Malambo is a virtual library dedicated exclusively to facilitating access to musical arrangements of Latin American music for School Orchestras . This project arises when analyzing the difficulties that most of the School or Children's and Youth Orchestras of our continent have to get  good orchestras materials to porgra, their concert seasons.

 

The absence of a bank of scores and resources (human and technical) for the School Orchestras has generated duplication of efforts in cultural management, lack of dissemination of scores and repertoires. The high costs of editable scores and the poor readability of old arrangements by hand, hinder their massification and their arrival in more vulnerable sectors.

 

Malambo Music Library makes possible to enrich the repertoires of school musical practices, contributing to the promotion of musical creation and the recognition of regional and national experience and creative craft.

 

About us

From WILLIAMS FOUNDATION , through the Laboratory of Cultural and Scientific Innovation, this project that FUNDECUA promotes is being developed; with the aim of facilitating the exchange of Orchestral materials and resources between the Youth Orchestras. This library of scores is made up of the contribution of the School Orchestras, arrangers and professionals envolved with  this activity. This network is constantly growing and also enables the visibility and encouragement of the arrangers dedicated to produce educational material according to the level of each School Orchestra.

 

How to collaborate

This project is purely community based and is enriched with the collaboration of each organisation , arrangers, directors, etc.

There are different ways to collaborate. Sending arrangements; digitally editing orchestras materials; sugesting pieces that you consider imposible or difficult  to ; contribute or suggest ideas that enrich this Library.
